Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the conversion?
Accuracy is highest for text-based PDFs. The text, basic formatting, and paragraph structure are preserved well. Complex multi-column layouts, tables, and text boxes may not convert perfectly.
Can it convert scanned PDFs to Word?
Scanned PDFs are images of text, not actual text. The tool cannot directly convert them. Use the Image to Text tool first to extract the text via OCR, then copy that into a Word document.
Will fonts and styling be preserved?
Common fonts are preserved when available. If a PDF uses a font not available on your system, a similar font is substituted. Colors, bold, italic, and basic formatting are generally preserved.
Is the output a .docx file?
Yes. The output is a standard .docx file compatible with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice, and all modern word processors.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF to Word?
No. Unlock the PDF first using the PDF Unlock tool, then convert.
Tables in my PDF are not converting correctly. Why?
Complex table layouts, especially those created from merged cells or unusual borders, are difficult to convert accurately. Simple, well-structured tables convert better than complex ones.
